This Workout Drastically Changed My Life Forever!

Article by Martin Day

Some time ago I was working out lifting weights in an Army gymnasium when a good mate of mine called Gerry Doolan, who, like me was a physical training instructor watched me lifting the old iron.

Gerry was known as a great fitness guru – he was as strong as a gorilla with endless reserves of fuel in his tank – unlike most ‘bodybuilders’ and ‘strongmen’. His strength and endurance never failed and the guy never gave up on anything.

Unbelievably, he was only a “little un” weighing in at about 150 pounds; that didn’t stop him though as he could lift blokes weighing nearly twice his bodyweight with no effort at all. It was truly amazing to see him in action.

Remarkably, he did not lift weights.

I considered myself pretty strong and fit, being a member of the army boxing team, a martial artist and an athlete on and off the track so I thought my knowledge of “getting in shape” was pretty good. Added to that, I wrote and instructed on training programmes for the military so that they could get ‘battle fit’ fast.

Gerry smiled at what I was doing and offered ‘advice’.

He quickly ‘clued me up’ on the massive benefits of pure bodyweight exercises and used himself and others as ‘modest’ examples.

I was all ears, and then the challenge started.

“Go on lets see how many ‘angular press ups’ and ‘sit ups’ you can do non stop. I’ll count them” he said after showing me how to do them.

I launched myself into the press ups and realised very quickly that they were not all they appeared to be; they were not as easy as they looked and I could feel the effect right through to the core of my whole body.

They really trained my body.

“I can do 200 straight off,” said Gerry “and without breaking a sweat whilst watching Coronation Street on the box.”

Well this made me pretty annoyed because I was struggling past 25 reps – this from someone (me) that could bench presses 200 pounds and curl 120 pounds.

My arms, shoulders, chest, legs and back started to go into convulsions and I felt misery come over me as I realized that I was going to end up flat on the floor any second, it was just too difficult for me to do these reps.

“When you can do 200 of these in one go then you are on the way to GREATNESS” Gerry said.

The same thing happened when I went for the sit ups, crikey, I could do ‘normal’ sit ups really easy and for ages, I also had a ‘six pack’ but these new ones, well I hate to admit it but they got me too. It just didn’t make sense.

After 30 reps I was in a heap with my whole body screaming.

“All you’re using is your own bodyweight Martin” said Gerry.

“Amazing” I said “No pain no gain; never realized it could push me so good.”

‘You see,’ said Gerry. ‘You can get really fit, strong and powerful with stamina to match by only using your own bodyweight

That was when I drastically changed my thinking.

Since then I have worked out with the British Army bodyweight conditioning exercises Gerry showed me, along with many others that I created and practiced on myself, my soldiers and martial arts students.

This amazing knowledge supercharged my body and my army, athletics and martial arts careers. I know that I am the best I can be and I don’t have any regrets at leaving my old training routines behind.

So that’s when I started to devise a battle-proven (and martial arts proven) system of bodyweight exercises that leaves everything else out there in its wake!

Now you know…

Currently, I have passed my knowledge and experience to literally thousands, men, women and children and from all backgrounds in many countries around the globe. Many people couldn’t do much to start with, but without exception no matter how little they could do when they started on press ups, sit ups, leopard crawls, bridge, crab walks and squats as they stayed with my program – huge results took place really fast too.

In brief, my battle proven Fighting Fit exercises hammers everything else out there with no messing.

I have taught it to the military all over the world, police, martial arts, combat sports and to the “ordinary person” who just wants to “change their lives for the better”.

Fighting Fit works for weight loss, stamina, and flexibilty and for increased stength, flexibility and muscle. It is used to help get rid of aches and pains all over the body.

Straight to the point, the program works!!!!

If you don’t believe me. Get the program and use it. It WILL be responsible for change your whole life for the better.

Who dares wins!

Why Bodyweight Exercises Are the Key

Article by Martin Day

In my many years of training people in the military and in “civvy street” I’ve found that when someone is against doing something new, they will usually sit and wait, make excuses, make excuses and ask “why should I do that?”

Thing is, from experience although it is good to ask questions in order to confirm things, a lot of people will actually use excuses all the time and they end up doing nothing and achieving nothing much in life.

Many people demand to know the “whys”, but in the deep reaches of their being, they don’t really want to change.

I have given up on trying to explain because they don’t really want to know WHY they want to hold onto a currently held belief.

My method of showing people the way is to simply get them to see my fighting fit programs, get started on them and then they see and feel like a new person and don’t need to ask WHY any more….

My bodyweight exercises consisting of my never seen before, unique series of “Battle Group” exercises will turn you into awesome shape both physically and mentally, I have listed a few benefits with some answers to WHY, get the truth, here are a few:

They work really fast – here we go:

Why Bodyweight Exercises Are the Key!

1. Bodyweight exercises lets you condition your body from nearly every conceivable angle or position – weights don’t do this.
2. When you do the Battle Group you are training major muscle groups and gain not only massive strength but flexibility and fitness at the same time. Most people who lift weights concentrate on specific muscles (isolation training). Bodyweight practitioners hammer weight lifters hands down.
3. Bodyweight exercises also increase stamina and endurance Combat Alpha, Combat Bravo and Combat Charlie are a battle-proven example of this.
4. Bodyweight exercises blitz the ligaments, tendons joints and muscles at a depth far times greater than weights; in turn, giving you “working strength” The person who does a set of press-ups hits the muscles of the arms, shoulders, back, legs and abs much more than anyone that’s carrying out say, a machine or free weight bench press.

I could go on and on explaining more reasons… but we need to move on – you’re either with me or against me!

Thankfully there are more people with me and the numbers are rocketing up and up worldwide every single day as they invest in my Battle Proven bodyweight exercises and change their life for the better – they have taken the bull by the horns – what about you?

Be the best!

A New Lease of Life With Consistent Training!

Article by Martin Day

The guy in the café looked familiar. I knew that we’d met some place before, but couldn’t quite put my finger on it.

“I used to train in your classes in 1996”, he explained “In Sussex, England”. He introduced the man with him. Even though he was older, there was a strong family resemblance, probably an uncle or his dad.

Then it hit me like a flash. Joe was one of my first students. More than that, he was one of the most dedicated students out of the hundreds if not thousands that have walked into my training dojo.

Always the first to arrive and start warming up. Always the one who helped clear away the equipment at the end of the class. The one who volunteered to do the photocopying, or the catering. He trained really hard and gained a huge amount of technique and knowledge from my teaching.

Then I remembered something else. “You used to come to training with your brother didn’t you, your twin?”

They were pleased that I had remembered them and at that instant, they smiled at one another. Then I recognised the older man. He was Joe’s brother. But they weren’t twins. The second man – the one I had thought was his father or uncle – was actually Joe’s younger brother.

Physically there was a world of difference between these close in age brothers. The “older” one was going grey and had lost a bit of hair and had put quite a bit of weight on since I last saw him, but Joe was toned, lean and smartly dressed. He also looked years younger – many years younger. Why such a difference?

In the years following those classes in Sussex, Joe had continued to follow my Fighting Fit programme.

It had become an integral part of his morning and evening routine for the last 11 years. The older brother never really got into it and turned into a bit of a couch potato – of which I am sorry to say there are loads out there, blaming everybody but themselves for the situation (through their choice) they are in.

Joe though was a real “go getter” and he looked and acted the part, full of confidence and flushed with success – the opposite to his brother Nelson.

If I had clapped my hands – he would have collapsed – that was the measure of his confidence. I bet he couldn’t even look at himself in the mirror….

This situation is one of many that I can recount over the years and proves the wonders of my Fighting Fit functional body (and mind) conditioning training that I teach.

It takes years off your age and gives you a new lease of life. One of my instructors is aged in his 60’s and everyone thinks he is only 30 or 40.

If you have met with the droves of people who attend my seminars, you’ll see people turn up one age on the Friday and leave many years younger on the Sunday.

There are other features that help this transition (like nutrition and the power of positive thought) of course. But no B.S. Fighting Fit training will take years off you and get you into the best shape of your life.

I’m talking about that sense of feeling alive that most people only enjoy in childhood.

Even more, it has an effect of reversing your biological age. So, if you want to be a young dynamo get started with my programs and start a new lease of life and be the best you can be.

Warmly

SuperCharge Your Day

Article by Martin Day

I have taught these to many of my clients all over the world, Jane in particular. She found it really difficult to get herself out of bed in the morning so that she could take advantage of training.

Jane progressed so well when she used the following tips that I gave to her that she wanted me to pass them on to all of you who may be in a similar situation that she was. Anyway, here they are…

1. Feet on the floor – take deep breaths and visualise positive goals that you want to achieve TODAY.
2. Get to training – starting means you are on your way.
3. Move your body so that it remains in motion.
4. A body that doesn’t do anything stays at doing nothing.

Have a think about these in detail in regards to your current state of fitness and conditioning.

Let’s go through it:

1. Feet on the floor…..Why? Everyone sets out of bed eventually, but what makes you different is that you have made a positive affirmation in your mind and by taking in deep breaths; you are charging yourself with powerful chi energy.
2. Get to training……Most people never get off their backsides. When you do you are streets in front of the rest.
Enough said.
3.  Move your body….This is true. As soon as you get training after     just a few minutes you will start to feel good about yourself and it will lead to a surge of motivation. Even if you don’t feel like it – give yourself a kick up the backside and just do it. You’ll want to keep moving because it makes you feel great.
4. A body that doesn’t do anything…Spot on, just look around you and see fat and unfit people taking a short cut to the graveyard. This is you UNTIL you get cracking on these tips. As soon as your feet touch the floor get physical immediately. Start swinging your arms up and down and sideways. Lift your legs up, down and sideways. Do some press-ups, sit-ups and squats. Do them quickly and breathe deeply.

Any idea on how this will make you feel? I’m telling you – you will feel supercharged and won’t want to lie-in anymore. You are ready to rumble and take no prisoners for the day.

You will! Just do it.

You’ll thank me for it.

Dare to win!

Who dares wins!

Eat 10,000 Calories A Day With No Weight Gain!

Posted by: Martin Day | Comments (0)

Article by Martin Day

I know the Olympics have finished but I just had to fire off what really stood out to me during that time.

It’s about Michael Phelps – one of history’s legendary swimmers and how he can stay lean, fit and muscular; especially around his mid section even though he eats ten thousand calories a day…

Sounds unbelievable doesn’t it?

The truth is – that’s what he gets through during the day.

I pulled this info out of the paper – it’s his meal for breakfast:

“three fried egg sandwiches, with cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, fried onions and mayonnaise, as well as three chocolate chip pancakes; a five-egg omelet; three sugar-coated slices of french toast, a bowl of cereal and two cups of coffee.”

So, the big question is….Why doesn’t he have fat hanging everywhere eating this amount of food?

The answer is really straightforward and it isn’t rocket science:

He trains every day and goes really hard at it, which results in him burning off huge amounts of calories.

Phelps also has a fast metabolism that blasts the fat off 24/7 keeping his body lean and athletic.

Can we do this?

Most of us won’t be able to torch off that amount of calories, but here’s the thing – the more you work out using high energy techniques -in other words you need to blast your training hard and get a major sweat on – the less you have to worry about how much you eat.

This is the way to burn calories – exercise HARD during workouts and get your metabolism working.

You can even let yourself go now and again and free yourself from healthy eating and go for the sweet stuff because you know that you are burning the hell out of the calories almost as fast as you can put them in.

So don’t feel guilty about having a splurge now and again!

If you have a really active metabolism and can eat anything you want without gaining an ounce – then there is nothing more for me to say…..

But, if you’ve been plagued with being out of shape. If you’ve got a bit of a belly hanging and you want to eat like ‘slim’ down the road and not have to be on a starvation diet and watch every single thing you eat, then you need to train hard with this:

http://www.combat-karate.com.au/books-dvds/

This is the answer to the new you.

It really works!

Til next time.

How To Get More Energy

Posted by: Martin Day | Comments (0)

Article by Martin Day

In the British Army our training runs were very tough.

They kept us guessing when it came to sprints that we had to do with weight on our backs – including carrying our fellow soldiers. We’d have to sprint from anywhere between 50 yards to 1000 yards – some uphill (mostly!) and some flat.

Just when we were familiar with the terrain and the distance the next day they’d throw something different at us.

This was not only done by accident, and not dependent on the mood of the instructors at the time – or the fact that they might
be playing mind games with us for that matter.

No.

You see, constantly changing up our workouts was the key to building great endurance for peek combat performance.

There was no regiment or unit better than us.

We had excelled ourselves on active and peacetime operations.

Your exercise routine should be the same if you are interested in excess energy to supercharge your day.

Last year, I trained in the mornings.

I’d go swimming, did some intervals and head back home.

I did this to ready myself for a competition I was preparing for, and I felt super charged for the day.

These days a lot of my training is done late afternoon at home, especially if the weather is bad and I don’t have much time available.

I don’t need much space to blast off some body weight exercises.

Never program yourself to say I only workout in the morning. Or I only run x number of miles a day.

You should gear yourself up to train whenever, where ever and however.

Also, change up a gear and mix it up. If you train in sprints then go to bodyweight exercises. If you train in the evening ramp it up by getting up early in the morning to train.

If you only walk, try to run for five minutes then walk again.

Change is good not only for mental growth but also good for increasing energy.

In my bodyweight conditioning program, I also build on interval training (running) and many more methods to get you fit, strong
and healthy.

The benefit is incredible.

To find out more what I mean by this visit:

http://www.combat-karate.com.au/books-dvds/

Because at the end of the day, do you want to be standing full of confidence and energy or sitting lethargically on your backside as
time passes you by.

Best,
